How To Play I Want To Be Where You Are

I Just Want To Be Where You Are: LadyDpiano
Wisteria Flower Tunnel in Japan

A beautiful worship song that I  have loved to play with the worship team in the past, is a song by Don Moen called,  I want To Be Where You Are. It was written in 1989 and it's in the Key of G with 4/4 time signature. Here's the chord chart that I found in my music library.

Verse 1

G Am7 G2/B C
I just want to be where you are

                D C/G G
Dwelling daily in Your presence

Em7 Am7 G2/B C
I don’t want to worship from afar

                  D G C/G D/G G
Draw me near to where You are

 Verse 2

                    Am7 G2/B C
I just want to be where You are

                D C/G G
In Your dwelling place forever

Em7 Am7 G2/B C
Take me to the place where You are

                      D G C/G D/G G
Cause I just want to be with You

 Chorus

                              Am7 C/D
I want to be where You are

                            D/G G D/E
Dwelling in Your presence

Em Am7 C/D
Feasting at Your table

        D D/E Em
Surrounded by Your glo - ry

     D D/C C C/D
In Your pre - sence

                         G Bm/F# Em Gmaj7/D
That’s where I always want to be

C D Eb F G
I just want to be, I just want to be with You

 Bridge

   D/F# Em D/E Em
O my God

                       Am C/D D/C
You are my strength and my song

        Bm Em
And when I’m in Your presence

                    Am C/D
Though I’m weak You’re always strong

 Ending - Verse 2

                   Am7 G2/B C
I just want to be where You are

                 D C/G G
In Your dwelling place forever

Em7 Am7 G2/B C
Take me to the place where You are

               D Eb F G G2/B C
I just want to be, I just want to be with You

               D Eb F G
I just want to be, I just want to be with You

I'm sure you can play the song from the chord chart but I thought I'd post some slash chords and share with you how I play the song. There's a lot of third intervals in the melody to give the song that added harmony because the words are so beautiful to sing and listen to.

How To Play: How Deep the Father's Love for Us

Jesus Christ Crucifix
Jesus Christ Crucifix (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I have been playing this beautiful song over and over this week. I love Stuart Townend because his lyrics are so inspiring. You'll want to play, How Deep the Father's Love for Us in the Key of D with 5/4 time signature. It's to be played quietly, so you can play the chording of the song at a memorial service, the offering and deep, reflective worship. Stuart Townend wrote the words and music in 1995.

Stuart Townend is an English Christian worship leader and writer of hymns and contemporary worship music. I especially like, "In Christ Alone." For more information, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_Townend

I couldn't possibly respond to each and everyone of your
emails but I must say how thrilling it is to see so many
of you write in about how much you are enjoying your church
ministry. There's so many music resources online for you to
find popular Christian Contemporary songs. I have a volume of
charts myself, so that is what I try to share with you.
In response to the many requests I receive, "no", I do not mail
sheet music to anyone in the U.S. or around the world.

You are welcome to do a search on my site and see if I've shared
the chords to the songs you are looking for. Or send me an email,
and I'll see if I have the chord chart in my library of worship
song arrangements.

Best wishes to all the church musicians and blessings on your
ministry. Back to the Scripture in song. Here's my arrangement
that was given to me.

Charlie Hall: Center

He lends His strength

Charlie Hall, the musician, is a Christian worship leader and songwriter from Oklahoma CityOklahoma
He is a member of a group of musicians and speakers that collectively form the Passion movement.

Center was written in 2005 with Generation Music. I like the song because it's mellow and just flows peacefully.

Here are the chords to the song:

Verse:
            E
You're the center of the universe
B A
Everything was made in You Jesus
E
Breath of every living thing
B A
Everyone was made for You

PreChorus:

 A B
You hold everything together
         A B
You hold everything together

Chorus:

 E E/D# A
Christ be the center of our lives
        B E
be the place we fix our eyes
       E/D# A
be the center of our lives

Tag:

 E E/D#
We lift our eyes to heaven
A
we wrap our lives around Your life
   E E/D# A
we lift our eyes to heaven to You

Other:

 E E/D# A
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
A Bsus
Look full in His wonderful face,
        E E/D#
And the things of earth
     A
will grow strangely dim,
       E A E
In the light of His glory and grace.

Charlie Hall: Center Video

It's such a soothing song. I remember playing it once with a young worship leader who had a good
voice. As a keyboard player, I think he wanted me to play with the team using a pad sound.
You know, one of those ethereal voices for background sounds, where you're not in a hurry in between chords.
