How To Play Worth It All

Ben Cantelon: Worth It All

Ben Cantelon, Jonathan Smith, Benji Cowart and Jason Ingram wrote a beautiful song, Worth It All from the album 'Everything in Colour' that I absolutely love. It's so very easy to play with a relaxed rhythm in the Key of E. The chords mostly played over and over are C#m7, A2, E, B.

 Intro

Learn Meant To Live

Switchfoot: Live – EP
Switchfoot: Live – EP (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Awhile back I posted On Fire by Switchfoot (love the slow worshipful song) but recently I was reminded of another popular song, Meant To Live. It has tons of power chords, you know where you omit the third of the chord and just play the root and fifth. This song was written in 2003 by Jonathan Foreman and Tim Foreman. My guy students really like this one, especially for the Junior High and High School Kids.

Play this piece like a rock song in the Key of D with 4/4 time signature.

How To Play King of Glory: Jesus Culture

King of Glory: Jesus Culture
Freedigitalphotos.net

I'm home now. I am refreshed and encouraged by the youth of America, seeing young people worship at Jesus Culture. It was an amazing time for so many! I wanted to introduce a fairly easy song to play, along with the harmonizing of the melody with vocals. The intro starts out with a straight forward beat and then the pattern of the rhythm changes with the verse. You will be recycling the chorus pattern over and over.

If you're not familiar with the song, here it is on YouTube.

Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The LORD of Heaven's Armies--he is the King of glory. Psalm 24:9-10, NLT

King of Glory (Jesus Culture)

INTRO:

Am D2 Am Em
Am D2 X4 (on keyboard, check other tabs for Guitar intro)

VERSE 1:
     Am F
Your face outshines the brightest sun
                C Em
Jesus, You're glorious, You are so glorious
      Am F

                C Em
Jesus, You're glorious, You are so glorious

Am F D2 Am F G Em

Repeat Verse 1, Then:

VERSE 2:
      Am F

Jesus You're powerful, You are so powerful
    Am F
And in Your Hands you hold the stars
              C Em
Jesus You're powerful, You are so powerful

CHORUS:

King of Glory, have Your glory
D2 Am F G Em

I found the guitar and bass chords online:

Verse 2 (Play the same chords as first verse)

Your voice like rushing waters sounds
Jesus, You're powerful, You are so powerful

The king referred to in Psalm 24 is repeatedly described as the King of glory. Glory means the state of being magnificent, splendid, extraordinary, and praiseworthy. Still, the psalmist does not name this King. Who is this King of glory?

You'll find Spanish words to the song, here.
