Learn To Play Hero: Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey

With excitement in the air as Halloween approaches, my grandson wants to dress up as a "Hero" for his costume. I asked him what he had in mind, since he is 5 years old... and he said, "A cop!" His response reminded me of a very popular song in 1993 sung by the beautiful and talented, Mariah Carey. (Hero)

It's a moderately slow song in the Key of D with 4/4 time.
The words and music are by Walter Afanasieff and Mariah Carey.

How To Play: Don't Worry, Be Happy

Bobby McFerrin an American vocalist

In 1988 Bobby McFerrin, an American vocalist, wrote a very catchy song... Don't Worry, Be Happy. He's also a 10 time Grammy Award winner. He's worked with Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. For more information on this songwriter, visit his website, http://spirityouall.bobbymcferrin.com/

No, I'm not into the philosophy of Meher Baba, but I think this acapella song in just 4 words is pretty cool. Dont Worry Be Happy 12"

How to Play Should've Said No

Taylor Swift on Red Tour 2013

Song Background

Should've Said No is a country song that was written in 2006 by Taylor Swift.

The song is an up-tempo in which the central character addresses a former lover named Sam who has cheated on her, telling him that he "should've said no" to the female who has taken her place in his life ("You should've said no/You should've gone home/You should've thought twice before you let it all go/You should've known that word 'bout what you did with her would get back to me"). Swift wrote the song when she was sixteen years old. For more information, visit wikipedia.org

So You Think You Can Jam?

I found this very addictive game online called JamsMatch Memory Game. I thought I might do well with Rock/Pop music section, but I was wrong! (sigh) Wish they had a jazz section! :D So, I chose the "everything" section and gave it my best shot! Well, let's just say I got 3 of them right! Plus, I think my reactions are a bit slow because they have this timer going. So, that adds to the pressure!! Head on over to the site if you like and see how you do. Have fun and enjoy!

http://www.jamsbio.com/games/jamsMatchsolo

I spent some time visiting this site and came to the conclusion that it is the game that puts to the test your memory of music! How far back do you remember songs? The 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's? I grew up in the 50's and loved Motown music! Then the Beatles came and each era brought new and lasting sounds to the music scene. So, give the game a try... Let's see if you remember? Let's jam!

Here on the site, you can browse the top 100 songs by year and search for a song, artist, or album. Enjoy!
