A modern Western worship team leading a contemporary worship session. (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
A new Easter season is fast approaching and I have been reflecting on many of the songs I have performed in the past. I have fond memories of playing in an open amphitheater near the beach for an Easter sunrise service outdoors. Other times I had played the keyboard on a strings setting along with other worship team members for 4 Easter services on a Sunday morning. How is it going to be for you this year? Will you be performing as a musician or participating with your voice in congregational worship? Will you be mixing upbeat contemporary songs, like O Happy Day and balancing the song list with a few slow, traditional music favorites?
Here are a few songs I have posted in the past with their corresponding chord charts.

I thought I would share a traditional hymn with you and how I play it with the slash chords below.
Lyrics to A Mighty Fortress Is Our God (Verse 1) by Martin Luther
A mighty Fortress is our God,
A Bulwark never failing;
Our Helper He amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe
Doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great,
And, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. I need to post more Easter type songs for worship.
