How To Play Don't You Remember: Adele

Don't You Remember was written in 2011 by Adele Adkins and Dan Wilson. It is a slow, acoustic Ballad with 4/4 time signature in the Key of Eb. I love to hear Adele sing with her powerful voice and watch her great stage performance. Do you have a favorite Adele song?

Adele: Rolling In The Deep

English: Adele
Image via Wikipedia

 A lovely moment at the Grammys for me was hearing Adele belt out, one of my favorite songs,
Rolling In The Deep. I like her, plus her communication I saw on an interview. I just had a very brief moment this a.m. to walk through the music myself. Next time, I'll have it memorized. It's pretty simple to play. It's a fast, peppy song filled with power chords. It was nice to have Adele back with us after taking some time off for vocal surgery. I have not posted about Whitney Houston yet but I plan to after her memorial service, with respect for her family. As many of you know, she was one my favorite artists, along with the rest of the world! We all thought of her and felt very sad. WE will always love you Whitney... more later.

So, here I am on my Yamaha Motif ES8.

Adele dominated the grammys with 6 wins, so talented!

Music Chords

In music, a power chord Play (also fifth chord) is a chord consisting of only the root note of the chord and the fifth interval, usually played on electric guitar ...  Power chords are often performed within a single octave, as this results in the closest matching of overtones. Octave doubling is sometimes done in power chords. Power chords are often pitched in a middle register. If they are too low, they tend to sound unclear and boomy. When played too high they lack depth and power.

Play these Power Chords in your left hand:

C5 = CG

G5 = GD

Bb5 = BbF

Then your adding both hands with r.h. chords and single bass notes:

Ab = Ab/AbCEb

Bb = Bb/BbDF

Gm7 = G/BbDF

G = G/GBD

Cm = CC/GCEb

Abmaj7 = AbAb/EbGC

Adele Sheet Music! Including Someone Like You, Rolling in the Deep, and much, much more!

Do you have a favorite Adele song? I like this one. A great music software to help you stay on track with this driving beat song is Back Pocket Band Software. I own it and how I wish I had used it on this particular song for demonstration.

Here's what it does:

* It gives you access to over 350 real-sounding
   backing tracks.

* Practice and live performance files are played in
   all 12 keys.

* You can choose between multiple speeds: slow,
  medium, and fast.

* 3 different sections, 9 styles of music, & drums-only
   option.

* Instant streaming playback and automatic downloading
   to your system for burning to cd, transfer to ipod, and
   editing.

* And much more...

Have fun playing Rolling In The Deep. If you like to play Coldplay, with that driving bass line, you'll enjoy this!

Best,

How To Play Someone Like You: Adele

 Awhile back I posted the chords to an Adele song, Set-fire-to-rain. There was a little discussion going on about minor chords. Reviewing them, we remember to flat (lower) the third of the chord. So, Gm is a music abbreviation for G minor and you would play G, Bb, D together (block chord) or arpeggiate it, you know a broken chord that is rolled. Now, Dm is a D minor chord that is played on all white keys, DFA because a D Major chord is DF#A.

Adele has another song that I like called Someone Like You! Do you know it?

You can download the sheet music for free and solo music as well at Adele.

So, here are the music chords for you:

Here's the entire chord chart to Set Fire to the Rain by Adele:

Intro: Dm, F, C, Gm

Verse:

          Dm       F
I let it fall, my heart,
          C                Gm
And as it fell you rose to claim it.
       Dm                 F
It was dark and I was over,
          C                       Bb
Until you kissed my lips and you saved me

Verse
    Dm            F....
My hands they're strong,
but my knees were far too weak,
Stand in your arms
without fall to your your feet,

Refrain:
              Dm                   Gm
But there's a side to you that I never knew, I never knew.
           Dm                                 Dm
All the things you'd say, they where never true, never true,
          Bb                     C
And the games you'd play, you would always, always win.

[Chorus: ]
           Dm
But I set fire to the rain,
         C
Watch it pour as I touched your face,
     Gm
well it burn while I cry,
                              Dm              C
Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name!

Verse:
When I'm with you
I could stay there,
Close my eyes, feel you're here forever,
You and me together, nothing is better!

Refrain:
Cause there's a side to you that I never, never knew,
All the things you'd say they where never true, never true,
And the games you'd play, you would always, always win.

[Chorus: ]
But I set fire to the rain,
Watch it pour as I touched your face,
well it burned while I cry,
Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name!
I set fire to the rain
And I threw us into the flames
And it felt something die,
Cause I knew that that was the last time, the last time!

Bridge:
         Bb                F/A
Sometimes I wake up by the door,
         Am                          C
That heart you caught, must be waiting for you,
     Bb                      F/A
Even now when we're already over,
     Am                            C
I can't help myself from looking for you

[Chorus: ]
I set fire to the rain,
Watch it pour as I touch your face,
well it burn when I cry,
Cause I heard it screaming your name, your name
I set fire to the rain,
And I threw us into the flames
Cause I knew that was the last time
The last time, oh, oh!
